• Quiet autofocus: Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) uses ultrasonic vibrations rather than a gear system to focus the lens for smooth, silent, precise Autofocus. The lens has a focus mode that lets you switch from AF to manual focus by simply turning the focus ring to fine-tune focus. This quiet operation makes the lens well-suited for digital cinema. Focus is internal (IF), so the physical length of the lens doesn't change as you focus.
• Class glass: Anti-reflective Nano Crystal coating solves ghosting and flare, while ED (Extra-Low Dispersion glass fixes chromatic aberrations. An Aspherical element eliminates lens aberrations.
• Good bokeh: A rounded 9-blade diaphragm renders natural-looking out-of-focus areas while producing rounded spectral highlights.
